Gambia Visa

Visa requirements for travel to The Gambia are solely based on the nationality of the passport that the applicant holds in accordance with immigration requirements.

Oman Citizens: Oman citizens, i.e., Omani passport holders, need a visa before travelling to The Gambia. Visa on arrival provisions are limited and not guaranteed without a formal confirmation by Gambian authorities.

Resident Expatriates in Oman: The visa requirements that apply to expatriates living in Oman are based on the nationality of their passport.

Some passport holders living in Oman may qualify for visa-free entry to The Gambia for short stays. Nevertheless, such eligibility must be checked before departure.

Citizens that are not exempt from visa requirements are required to obtain a visa prior to departure. A valid residence card issued by Oman is required for applicants who send their application from within Oman.

Travelers are highly advised to check their visa status before booking flights in order to avoid any potential complications at the point of entry.

Required Documents (For Applicants Who Require a Visa)

• A valid passport that is valid for at least six months past the intended date of entry
• At least 2 empty pages in your passport
• 2 recent passport-size photographs with white background
• A filled-out visa application form
• An established flight booking (round trip)
• A hotel booking or an invitation letter from a host in The Gambia
• Bank statements (last 3–6 months showing sufficient funds)
• No-objection certificate from the employer (if applicable)
• A copy of the trade license (for business owners, if applicable)
• A valid residence Permit issued from Oman, valid for expatriates
  An invitation letter (for business or visit visas, if needed)
• Travel insurance (strongly recommended and may be requested)

All documents have to be submitted through the designated visa processing channel or through an authorized visa service.

Important Notes

• The Gambia does not grant visa-free access to Omani passport holders.
• Some expatriate passport holders may qualify for visa-free entry — eligibility depends on nationality.
• An airport security/departure fee may be imposed at Banjul International Airport and is usually payable locally.
• Visa on Arrival Provisions are limited and should not be relied upon without official confirmation.
• Refusal or delay may occur because documentation is incomplete.
• Final approval for entry lies with the discretion of Gambian immigration authorities.
